The term Gandhigiri came up in the Rajkumar Hirani movie ‘Munnabhai’ wherein a powerful thug adopts peaceful approach to solve a problem. Now, the traffic police team of Mahankali police station in Hyderabad has also adopted the same approach towards those urinating in public.
They are garlanding the civilians urinating in public places and urging them not to repeat the act. However, many feel this Gandhigiri will never work here. They state that a strong punishment should be there and only then people will change and reform.

Some are also suggesting a strict Swachch Bharat law should be brought in to ensure that the roads and the surroundings are clean. To those who violate the cleanliness, severe punishment must be given to them. It has shown effect in drunken driving so let us hope the approach changes.
What ever the rules kept by the Government is not following by the citizens easily. Always some one should force to do that. There is no personal awareness for the people in the society. The only way to follow Gandhigiri is one should have their own awareness and able to stand up beside the Government. If everyone is following the rules then it is enough to change the society.
