Heroes And Directors
It is an open secret that the economy of Tollywood is not that great because many films end up as cost failures at the box office. However, there is a reason behind this. Earlier, a hero and director used to take 4 lakhs remuneration.
And the film’s budget was 35 lakhs. The film used to collect 50 lakhs to 1 crore and everyone was happy. But this is the story of 80s and 90s. Today, if 40 crores is budget for a film, more than half is being eaten by heroes and directors.
It is not able to recover its investment due to the box office potential and producers are having a tough time. So, either the remuneration ratio has to come down or the making cost has to come down and heroes and directors can actually play a significant role in influencing it and saving the industry.
Now-a-days high budget movies are tremendously increasing in Tollywood. Due to this factor the call sheets of heroes and directors are also increasing the days. Due to working of more days heroes and directors are demanding huge amount of money.
Whereas when we are considering about the money Tollywood industry is not growing. If we focus on growing the level of industry remuneration will be more. Whatever the issue it leads to one plus point and one minus point.
